Our newest Impact Platform Partner

October 15, 2020

CommonGood Capital is excited to welcome Verdant Capital to our Impact Investing Platform. With offices in Johannesburg, Ebene, Accra, Kinshasa and Lagos, Verdant Capital is a well-known provider of debt and equity capital to Inclusive Financial Institutions (“IFIs”) across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. Currently, 2/3rds of the population in these areas are unbanked, which IFIs are seeking to address by “banking the unbanked.” The IFIs that Verdant Capital supports include traditional microfinance, fintech-oriented institutions, lenders to small and medium-size enterprises, as well as segment specific providers such as education finance, health finance or agri-value chain financing. All their investments are aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals of reducing poverty (#1), reducing inequality (#10) and providing foundations for economic opportunities (#8).

Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund will be offered by CommonGood and can be an excellent way for investors support these initiatives while also potentially generating a risk-adjusted return on their investment. The Hybrid Fund will invest in Inclusive Financial Institutions on a Pan-African basis and has already received commitments from two leading European development finance institutions. Please click here to request more information about Inclusive Financial Institutions and Verdant Capital. The offering room for this fund will be available soon.
