If 2020 was the shock to the system, 2021 was wrestling with the new normal. What do you think 2022 will be? I wish I knew. Here is my best guess- it is the year that everyone must digest the last two years and make the personal choices and adjustments to move forward. Two weeks into the year and I am already seeing this play out. Personally, my in-laws, who for two years have been isolated in fear over COVID, are now being forced to find a healthy path forward. Financially, Jerome Powell just declared the economy is healthy enough and now needs tighter monetary policy. As wealth advisors, you are dealing with the whole person. I encourage you to stop and ask some basic questions of your clients to reassess the best path forward for them…
- How are you doing with all the things going on over the last 2 years?
- How have you changed or need to change?
- How can shape your investment strategy to help you live a deeper more fulfilling life?
- How is your capital aligned with your values and passions?
We are seeing more advisors trying to figure out how to implement impact investing with their clients. My belief is the last two years has moved the ball for many advisors and their clients. Clients want to be connected to their capital and to use it to make a difference in the world. 2022 would be a great year to help your clients explore impact investing. The best way to start is simply by asking questions.
